A.U.K. - 7" - tadpole - £3
After a killer split cd with BURNT CROSS, this is the debut 7" by this Scottish anarcho peace-punk band. Members used to be in The Alternative, who had records on Crass and Corpuse Christi in the 80s, and these tracks sound like something that could have come out back in those early days of UK punk's political awakening. There are definite elements of The Mob, Killing Joke and also the beforementioned Burnt Cross, combined with angry political lyrics. Finally managed to secure some more copies! This release features Matt from Infest on guitar and bass, Andy from No Comment on vocals and Bob from Lack of Interest on drums....yep...take that one in for a second.... Blazing hardcore punk fury at it's finest. Seriously fucking killer and as this is apparently a somewhat limited pressing, won't be around for too long.

SICK MORMONS - why does shit keep falling.... - 7" - Gummopunx - £3.50
Their self-titled debut ep was one of the great surprises of 2008 and with this new ep the boys from Amsterdam return with another serious contender for the 'best of the year' top tens. The US westcoast influences still reign supremse - I hear T.SO.L., Adolescents, D.I. and Articles Of Faith among others - but they are in no way mere copycats and very much have a 'sound of their own'. This is some seriously great stuff, catchy as hell and I am honestly a little bit in awe at the moment....

BASTARD SONS OF THE APOCALYPSE - strangled by the system - 12" - adelante discos/todo destruido - £8 SOLD OUT
This is a perfect example of a fucking great lp that appears to have had little to no distribution in Europe after it's release (in 2008). I understand trading has become very difficult and expensive, but it's still a shame when it means amazing records like this aren't more readily available. I secured one of the 525 copies that were pressed for myself and Darren with the help of Jos, but the labels weren't able to trade so I was unable to stick some in distro back then as well.
Adelante Discos dropped me a mail the other week however to see about trading some releases so I quickly snapped up a few of their remaining copies of this killer lp (as well as the Putas Mierdas eps). BSOA play no bullshit dbeat hardcore (!) punk (with no trace of 'metal' or 'overproduction' in sight!), reminiscent of the early Swedish etc. bands inspired by Dischardge, and this rages from start to finish. PUTAS MIERDAS - el punk no quiere.... - 7" - Todo Destruido records - £4 - SOLD OUT
Absolutely killer 4-song 7" from Spanish-style punk from this Guadalajara, Mexico band. You can tell these guys have a few Eskorbuto records in their collection, and they nail that perfect combination of melody and drive. And of course they add in those ultra-pissed Spanish vocals. A really killer 7"! (sorry state) -
